  1. Do not make arrangements with third parties, or accept any responsibility.
  2. Immediately call the number listed in your policy
  3. Have the following for a smoother process:
    • Policy number
    • Receipt of payment
    • Driver's license
    • Circulation card
    • Exact location of the accident
  4. Request a report number and write it down including the date and name of the person who helped you.
  5. The adjuster will help with determining responsibility.
  6. Sometimes blocking the traffic can cause other accidents, if you do not block traffic remain in place of the accident until an adjuster responds to the scene of the accident.

  2. Raise your complaint to the Federal Preventive Police (formerly Federal Highway Police) and request a certified copy. (This process is not necessary in Mexico City).
  3. Make an appointment with the adjuster to file the statement of the theft and they will explain the steps to take.
